Diwali Diyas!!

The fifteenth night of the month of Karthika is a no moon night, that is, 'Amavasya' is celebrated as the festival of Diwali by Hindus residing across the globe. But, with zillions of Diyas lit, the darkness has to find a place to hide. They enlighten the aura with such a brilliance that amidst the sheen of it evil is engulfed.

Widely known as 'The Festival Of Lights', Diwali connotes the victory of good over evil. Numerous folklores are associated with the festival of Diwali. And every tale indicate towards one fact that it is inevitable for the good to triumph over evil. On one hand, Lord Rama ended the reign of Ravana and on the other hand Lord Krishna killed demon Narakasura, thereby, re-establishing peace and happiness in three worlds.

Diwali Diyas is the embodiment of the same goodness, virtuosity, and eternal truth. For Hindus, light is the symbol of knowledge, wisdom, goodness, happiness, peace, truth and prosperity. Whereas, darkness symbolizes everything opposite to it. We find in legendary stories of Diwali the mention of the role of Diyas. Natives of Ayodhya lit Diyas in the way of Lord Rama, Lakshmana, and Mother Sita so that they would not get distracted from the path.

It was physically done at that time, but there is a deeper significance relevant even in contemporary times. Diya not only help in enlightening the physical path but the spiritual path too. It shows the right way so that our soul never indulge in any kind of evil. It teaches the lesson of brotherhood and encourages everyone to choose the road that leads to serenity of mind and soul.

People belonging to Hindu community all around the world indulge in lavish celebrations of the festival, but it is also important to understand the essence of these celebrations. The lesson is not confined to be adopted by Hindus only, but the idea is universal and thus encompasses the mankind on the whole. If these beautiful Diyas would start appealing to everyone's mind and soul can turn the world into a Utopian one.

Season of Lights!!

Dunes of vapors from crackers rise,
Engulf, as odorous airs resound
Effusing joys to all abound
Pearls of gleams in these autumn nights
Adorn our lives else trite
With sparklers that motley skies
As soaring spirits of powder wander
Let us thank the heavenly might,
In this festive season of lights.

Diwali!!

The sweet smell of flowers
The array of colors
Diwali is here!!
Firecrackers are heard
Candles are lit
Children play
Presents are given
We pray to the gods
Diwali is here.

Diwali!!

Today's the `Festival of Lights' all over;

A joyful day for minds and hearts and souls;

And people throng the Temples to offer,

Prayers, resolving to take better roles.

And most of them are richly clad and clean,

And eat such dainty foods and sweets with mirth;

Whilst noisy crackers burst, their lights are seen,

It seems to be a happy day on Earth!

But are there not hearts woe-filled, very sad?

Denied of laughter, smiles for days;

Today's the triumph of Good over bad;

But what about the wastage in much ways?

True joy is when you see someone else smile!

True charity gives joy in Heavenly style.

Marine Drive!!

Marine Drive is a skillfully laid-out boulevard in South Mumbai. It is actually an upturned 'C'-shaped six lane concrete road, which lengthens to 3 km along the coastline - a natural bay. This avenue connects Nariman Point with Malabar Hills. Situated over domesticated land, facing west-south-west, its coastline forms the part of the Arabian Sea. What draws attention to this avenue is the striking esplanade next to the road, where scores of people come to breathe fresh air and view sunset.

Officially called Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Road, Marine Drive was earlier identified as Sonapur amongst local Marathi populace. Palm trees are lined up along the road, presenting a picturesque view and nice walkway to take a stroll.

Having the highest real estate prices in India, the buildings down the road embrace many hotels and are home to many celebrities. Indeed, there is a row of art deco buildings that were built by wealthy Parsis during early 1920's. Bombay just follows Miami (USA) in its number of art deco buildings along the waterfront.

At nights, Marine Drive looks stunning illuminated, with lights and if seen from some elevated point beside the road, it appears like a necklace with street lights resembling a string of pearls. Attributable to its extravagant loveliness, it is also known as Queen's Necklace.

Chowpatty Beach, famous for its local fast-food, lies at the northern end of this road. One of the busiest roads in Mumbai, Marine Drive has been acclaimed as the world's largest viewing gallery that hosts various events. Marine Drive offers the best causeway to take a refreshing saunter next to the sparkling waters of the Arabian Sea. The cool breeze would caress you with its gentle touch, making you feel at cloud nine.

'Nana-Nani' park is the recent attraction, which has been added for senior citizens in the area. Tickle your taste buds with the local 'kulfi' and tit-bits available at road-side kiosks. Thus, Marine Drive is a place that none cannot afford to miss while holidaying in Bombay.

The Friendship Recipe!!

Fold two hands together

And express a dash of sorrow

Marinate it overnight

And work on it tomorrow

Chop one grudge in tiny pieces

Add several cups of love

Dredge with a large sized smile

Mix with the ingredients above

Dissolve the hate within you

By doing a good deed

Cut in and help your friend,

If friend should be in need.

Stir in laughter, love, and kindness

From the heart, it has to come

Toss with genuine forgiveness

And give your neighbor some!!

The amount of people served

Will depend on you

It can serve the whole wide world

If you really want it to!!

Best Kept Secret!!

At a dinner party, several of the guests were arguing whether men or women were more trustworthy.
“No woman,” said one man, scornfully, “can keep a secret.”
“I don’t know about that,” huffily answered a woman guest. “I have kept my age a secret since I was twenty-one.”
“You’ll let it out some day,” the man insisted.“I hardly think so!” responded the lady. “When a woman has kept a secret for twenty-seven years, she can keep it forever.”

Sidhivinayak

The Siddhi Vinayak temple at Prabhadevi in Mumbai is a well visited one attracting thousands all through the year. The Shree Siddhivinayak Ganapati Mandir is a Hindu temple dedicated to Ganesha. It is located in Prabhadevi, Mumbai, Maharashtra. It was originally built by Mr. Laxman Vithu and Mrs. Deubai Patil in November 19th, 1801.The temple has a small mandapam (hall) with the shrine for Siddhi Vinayak ("Ganesha that grants your wish"). The wooden doors to the sanctum are carved with images of the Ashtavinayak (the eight manifestations of Ganesha in Maharashtra). The inner roof of the sanctum is plated with gold, and the central statute is of Ganesha. In the periphery of the temple, there is a Hanuman temple as well. Ganapati here is depicted with four arms bearing a lotus, an axe, modakas and a garland of beads, flanked by his consorts Siddhi and Riddhi.

Today, Me and my Friend Manasa had been to SidhiVinayak.Every Tuesday, we both surely visit Sidhivinayak as it gives the great immense pleasure.Thousands of devotees prong throng the temple, especially during Angaraki and Sankashti Chaturti days, when there is a continuous stream of visitors for as long as a 24 hour period.

We purchase flowers, garike, modaka and narikela for Rs.12/- from a lady who is very familiar to us.

For the Security purpose our handbag and even the coconut & what all will be carried by us will be checked through the scanner and even the devotees should undergo security check!!Fine, after all this, we went to Ladies queue and stood hardly for 5-10mins and within 20mins we got the darshan. When u pray god with Indepth Devotion u feel a kind of pleasure and happiness..After a long journey for 45mins in train and 15mins in a rick, u may feel tired. But, the moment you enter the main Gharbagudi of Lord. Sidhivinayak everything vanishes..Then by, 8.25am, we left temple and came to Dadar stn in a share taxi..After, reaching dadar stn, we went to dadar market to purchase Bengaloorina Shamanthige which is very rare in Mumbai..U can find this only in city but not in Suburbs.. we also purchased katiruva mallige hoovu and came back to dadar stn, and boarded Goregaon Local Train which was scheduled for 9:01am and came back to our detination[Goregaon stn] by 9.30am and then reached Gokuldham, by 9.45am.

My Sweet Sis!!

Having a sister is like having a best friend, you can't get rid of. You know whatever you do, they'll still be there. Sisters are probably the most competitive relationship within the family, but once the sisters are grown, it becomes the strongest relationship. There can be no situation in life in which the conversation of my dear sister will not administer some comfort to me.Sweet is the voice of a sister in the season of sorrow. When mom and dad don't understand, a sister always will.Elder sisters never can do younger ones justice!A sister is a gift to the heart, a friend to the spirit, a golden thread to the meaning of life.To the outside world we all grow old. But not to brothers and sisters. We know each other as we always were. We know each other's hearts. We share private family jokes. We remember family feuds and secrets, family griefs and joys. We live outside the touch of time. The best thing about having a sister was that I always had a friend. There is no better friend than a sister. And there is no better sister than you. Our roots say we're sisters, our hearts say we're friends.Sisters share the scent and smells - the feel of a common childhood.A sister shares childhood memories and grown-up dreams. It was nice growing up with someone like you - someone to lean on, someone to count on... someone to tell on! Sisterhood is powerful.

I am very much blessed to have a sister like you Appu!!!!!!Sister is like mother, life time companion, best & true friend...I love u Sweetheart!!!!!!!

This restaurant serves both North Indian and South Indian Food and is from Upahara Darshini Group. South Indian food is even now excellent in Upahara Darshini in the nearing DVG road. This restaurant has Service Hall and Party Hall on the bussiest Gandhi Bazaar Main Road. The restaurant is very hygenic. Earlier they used to give food in use and throw plastic plates and plastic tumblers. Now, steel and ceramic plates are used and everything is sterilized in hot water. They provide Amul sealed butter and Maggi sealed sauce packet. Fast food is very economical. Dosa costs 11 rupees, 1 Plate Poori Costs Just 7 rupees, Idli Costs Just 7 rupees and coffee is just 3 rupees in a very big cup. Sweets are also very good, economical and fresh compared to nearby Venkateshwara Sweet Mart, Arya Bhavan and Anand Sweets. Thatte idli is very tasty. Service area is expensive. North Indian food is average in taste. A North Indian Meal in A/C Service area costs only 55 rupees - which is a good deal in North Indian Food.

Jodha Akbar, Romantic Story!!

Jodha Akbar, is one of my Favorite Lovely Movie. I saw this movie recently in DVD.When that movie was screened in all theatres, Mom told me several times, that lets go to PVR and watch..But, I didnt listen to her.Instead I was telling her that, one or the other day, it will be telecasted in TV itself. But after watching that movie, I realised that, I committed a great mistake which cannot be rectified, as phir se, theatres mein nahi aayega!!
Director Ashutosh Gowariker has made a very beautiful, awesome movie by experimenting a new kind of movie showing romance between two history characters in Jodha Akbar starring Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
Jodhaa Akbar is a sixteenth century love story about a marriage of alliance that gave birth to true love between a great Mughal emperor, Akbar, and a Rajput princess, Jodhaa.
Political success knew no bounds for Emperor Akbar (Hrithik Roshan). After having, secured the Hindu Kush, he furthered his realm by conquest until his empire extended from Afghanistan to the Bay of Bengal, and from the Himalayas to the Godavari River. Through a shrewd blend of diplomacy, intimidation and brute force, Akbar won the allegiance of the Rajputs. This allegiance was not universal. Maharana Pratap and many other rajputs always considered Akbar as a foreign invader. Maharana Pratap also banned inter marriages between rajputs who had given their daughters to the mughals and the ones who did not. But little did Akbar know that when he married Jodhaa (Aishwarya Rai Bachchan), a fiery Rajput princess, in order to further strengthen his relations with the Rajputs, he would in turn be embarking upon a new journey – the journey of true love.
The daughter of King Bharmal of Amer, Jodhaa resented being reduced to a mere political pawn in this marriage of alliance, and Akbar’s biggest challenge now did not merely lie in winning battles, but in winning the love of Jodhaa – a love hidden deep below resentment and extreme prejudice. Jodhaa-Akbar is their untold love story.
The movie moves around 16th century epic love story which explores a marriage alliance between two different cultures and religions for political interest. The story starts with Hindu King Bharmal of Amer deciding to give his daughter Jodha's hand to Mughal emperor Akbar and the time moves towards a new journey of life for that of true love. Ashutosh has very beautifully used his imagination skill to portray his political alliance related movie as a love story.
From this movie, ever1 can know that, even in those days, women were trained and made proffessional in all the fields.
For example:- In this movie, Jodha was knowing sword playing. But Akbar came to know, when she was playing sword in her Native place[Jodha was sent back to her native place after some misunderstanding happened, bcoz of cheating.Jodha and Akbar were cheated by old woman].
So, women were well trained and made profeesional in all the aspects of life!!
I love this movie a lot!!This is really a Great Movie with awesome scenes, dialogues.Even the lyrics are so beautiful. Each and every song has a decent lyrics with great music,rythm..Hatts off A.R.Rehman!!

VijayaDashami.

Durga
In Hinduism, Durga (Sanskrit: "the inaccessible", Bengali: ) is a form of Devi, the supreme goddess. She is sometimes referred[attribution needed] to as the mother of Kartikeya, and Ganesha only.Durga is depicted as a warrior woman riding a lion or a tiger with multiple hands carrying weapons and assuming mudras, or symbolic hand gestures. This form of the Goddess is the embodiment of feminine and creative energy (Shakti). From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Worship of DurgaThe 4 day Durga Puja is the biggest annual festival in Bengal and other parts of Eastern India, but it is celebrated in various forms throughout the Hindu universe. The day of Durga's victory is celebrated as Vijaya Dashami (East and South India), Dashain (Nepal) or Dussehra (North India) - these words literally mean "the tenth" (day), vijaya means "of-victory". In Kashmir she is worshipped as shaarika (the main temple is in Hari Parbat in Srinagar). The actual period of the worship however may be on the preceding nine days followed by the last day called Vijayadashami in North India or five days in Bengal, (from the sixth to tenth day of the waxing-moon fortnight). Nine aspects of Durga known as Navadurga are meditated upon, one by one during the nine-day festival by devout shakti worshippers. In North India, this tenth day, signifying Rama's victory in his battle against the demon Ravana, is celebrated as Dussehra - gigantic straw effigies of Ravana are burnt in designated open spaces (e.g. Delhi's Ram Lila grounds), watched by thousands of families and little children. In Gujarat it is celebrated as the last day of Navaratri, during which the Garba dance is performed to celebrate the vigorous victory of Mahishasura-mardini Durga. The Goddess Durga worshipped in her peaceful form as Shree Shantadurga also known as santeri , is the patron Goddess of Goa. She is worshipped by all Goan Hindus irrespective of caste and even by some Christians in Goa.Goddess Durga is worshipped in many temples of Dakshina Kannada district of Karnataka.

Shreemanta Dagdusheth Halwai, Pune.

Shreemanta Dagdusheth Halwai was very famous sweet trader of the past era. He was a very virtuous and righteous man. Shree Datta Mandir placed in budhwar peth, Pune was their residentional Building. During those times in the outbreak of plague Shreemanta Dagdusheth lost his son. Due to this episode he himself and his wife were very depressed and disturbed. During the same time his Guruji Shree Madhavnath maharaj consoled him and advised him to make two idols of God Shree Datta Maharaj and Shree Ganapati. And asked him to worship them and to take care of them like his own son. In future just as offspring brings radiance to his father’s name these idols would do the same for him. And as per his guruji’s advice he made two idols of Shree Datta maharaj and Shree Ganapati, and this very idol is the first idol, now this idol is placed in Aakara Maruti Temple, Shukrawar peth, this idol is worshiped everyday with detailed rituals and rites. Lokmanya Tilak instilled this idol. And at that moment Shreemantha Dagdusheth Halwai, Baburao Godse, Bhausaheb Rangari, Shree Morappasheth ghadve, Narayanrao Bajiwale a.k.a Jadhav, Narayanrao Bhujbal, Ramrao Butler, Ganpatrao Vithuji, Sardar Paranjape, Shivrampant Paranjape, Gopalrao Raikar, Narayanrao Darode and many such people from different spectra were present on this auspicious occasion. And with all the faith and devotion this auspicious tradition was started with the blessings from all these great people.
In the year 1894 Lokmanya Tilak started the Public Ganesh Feastival. In the year 1896-second idol of Shreemantha Dagdusheth Halwai Ganapati was ready and this was celebrated in the festival. During the same period Shreemantha dagdusheth expired. But the locals and his immediate social workers carried the tradition of Public Ganesh Festival forward. In that era Shree Dagdusheth halwai bahuli haud was renowned as public ganapati. This festival was organized and managed by Suvarnayug Youth Club. This idol is instilled at the temple in Pithashree old age Home, Baburao Godse Kondwa.

In the year 1896 the idol got a bit tattered and in the year 1967 they celebrated Amrut jubilee of the Ganapati Bappa. And on these basis instantaneously Head of Suvarnayug Youth Club Shree Pratap Godse, Digambar Rasne, Raghu Kedari, Shankar Suryavanshi, Chandrakant Darode, Umaji Kedari, Prahaladsheth Sharma, Ramakant Vasant Kodre, Kanta Rasne, Dattaray Kedari, Ulhas Shegde, Uttam Gavde, etc activist decided to make a new idol and for that purpose they appointed famous sculptor from Karnataka Shree. Shilpi. They asked him to make a small idol from mud and that was shown to the workers using the projector by Shree Balasaheb Paranjape and got the approval of his co-wokers about the similarity of the new idol with old. Once approved the work on large idol was started. After completing the idol Shree Shilpi offered his prayers to Lord Ganesh on the banks of Sangam River on the day of eclipse. He worshiped Lord Ganesha till the end of the eclipse. He also worshiped the Shree Ganesh Yantra and after that he conducted the rites on the place where he made the idol and with all the devotion he worshipped the Shree Yantar and implanted it the belly of Shree Ganesh. It is said that one must worship Lord Ganesha with all the devotion and faith and must carry all the rites and rituals regularly. Till date this tradition is followed with all the sincerity and so this Ganapati Bappa blesses everyone. Thus, this beautiful idol of Shree Ganesh fulfilling the vows of his worshipers is present in this temple. During that time it costed around 1125/- thousand and one twenty five rupees.

Escaping Reality[01]..

When the world crashes down around you, and the surroundings lose all color, When the harsh words cut right through, and your vision begins to grow duller. When a knife seems so appealing, and all you can do is scream. When you start to lose all feeling, and you disappear into your dreams. When no matter how hard you keep trying, and feel you can't get yourself out of this pit. When you can't control yourself from crying and all alone you sit, When you lie there hurt and tattered, and all your hope has gone,When your heart has finally shattered, and the darkness goes on and on, I will be there to pick up the broken pieces, and mend them back together Because, my love for my near & dear ones' never ceases, and we can escape reality forever!!

"Ganapathi Bappa Morya"

Ganesh Chaturthi is among the most auspicious festivals celebrated in Maharashtra during August and September. For Mumbai, this ten days festival is an absolute extravaganza of devotion fused with full throttle fun and camaraderie. Streets bustling with devotees and mammoth size pandals housing the imposing Lord Ganesh, the pot bellied elephant God, Mumbai is enamored in excitement with enthusiasm rife in all corners.Lord Ganesh is believed to be the Lord of Wisdom, prosperity and good fortune. Mumbai being the commercial capital of India, Lord Ganesh holds a special position amidst the Mumbaikars. Ganesh festival is observed throughout India; however, the festival is most elaborate in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.Ganesh Chaturthi is the period when it is believed that Lord Ganesh, son of Shiva and Parvati comes down on the earth to bless the humanity. Also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi in Sanskrit, Kannada, Tamil and Telugu, Ganesh Chaturthi typically falls sometime between 20th August and 15th September. The ten days festival culminates on Ananta Chaturdashi.Preparations for the celebrations of Lord Ganesh begin 2-3 months prior to the day of Ganesh Chaturthi. Clay models of Lord Ganesh are built and the size of this idol may vary from 3/4th of an inch to over 25 feet. On the day of the festival, it is placed on raised platforms in homes or in elaborately decorated outdoor tents for people to view and pray. The priest wearing red silk dhoti and shawl takes charge and invokes life in the idol amidst the chanting of mantras. This ritual is the pranapratishhtha. After this the shhodashopachara (16 ways of paying tribute) follows. Coconut, jaggery, 21 modakas (rice flour preparation), 21 durva (trefoil) blades and red flowers are offered. The idol is anointed with red unguent (rakta chandan). Throughout the ceremony, Vedic hymns from the Rig Veda and Ganapati Atharva Shirsha Upanishad, and Ganesh stotra from the Narada Purana are chanted. For 10 days, from Bhadrapad Shudh Chaturthi to the Ananta Chaturdashi, Ganesh is worshipped. On the 11th day, the image is carried through the streets amidst a lively procession when devotees dance and sing till they come to a river or the sea for immersion. All converge in the final procession shouting "Ganapathi Bappa Morya, Purchya Varshi Laukariya" (O father Ganesh, come again early next year). After the final offering of coconuts, flowers and camphor is made, people carry the idol to the river to immerse it. Ganesh Chaturthi is also long associated with India's freedom struggle. Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak, an ardent freedom fighter quite strategically initiated a fire of religious revivalism through the celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi. This served dual purpose inspiring the feelings of Hindu unity in Maharashtra and giving freedom fighters an opportunity to meet when the British government illegalised any gatherings, writings and slogans that could incite violence.Mumbai celebrates Ganesh Chaturthi with great religious and social fervor when other than invoking Lord Ganesha, there are several social service centers on the roll which include free medical checkup, blood donation camps, charity for the poor, dramatic performances, films, devotional songs, etc. that make the whole celebration worthwhile.

Two Wheeler

Hmm, As I secured distinction in 7th std[at that tym it was board exam], mom gifted me a bicycle[Lady Bird].My parents & sis tried a lot for making me learn riding a bicycle..But I didnt learn.Fed up of my -ve reply[I dont learn bicycle, I dont want to learn riding a bicycle], my mom sold it to one of her student. So I didn't learn bicycle..
Later on, when I came to 1st PUC, Mom admitted me to a driving school[Anand Driving School in Hanumanthnagar,Blore] paying Rs.2000/- for learning two-wheeler.
The person who was teaching me, taught me balancing[how to balance] on the first day. Gradually, I learnt balancing and one fine day, he took me to a ground[donkonna field, nearer to Vidhyapeetha circle] and taught how to give a acceleration and how much of acceleration should be given and how to hold the break, when to use the back break and when to use the front break. He was very nice person. Very good tutor. But I didn't wanted to learn. Mom said that, My daughter will never learn two-wheeler. So that tutor, replied saying, aane ge circus nalli cycle tuliyodu helkottaga, manushyarige gaadi helkododu yen maha kashta.[In circus Elephants are taught riding a bicycle so what's the difficulty in teaching a humanbeing in driving a two-wheeler]!!!!!!.
I left that driving school in the middle.Later on, I was getting scoldings from my family members[so on & so forth]...........
Mom did not loose her inspiration of making me learn 2wheeler. When I came to 2ndPu, Mom's student parent said that, she is having a driving school and will surely teach me how to learn a 2wheeler. Mom framed a policy, i.e. Last But The Least Try and made me join again to driving school again paying Rs.2000/-. This time my mom succeeded. Mom won.
Y I'm sharing this incident to all my Near and Dear one's bcoz, everyone are brilliant, intelligent, has their own inherent talent, ability, only thing is, he/she should have self determination of achieving it.So no one can say that, he/she cant achieve nor will try to achieve. Samaya kala bandhaga avarige artha aaguthe antha helobadalu[Instead of saying wen the tym cums, they will surely understand/realise] better, keep on trying!!!!!!Efforts & Hardwork will surely succeed..So for me, it took nearly 5yrs to learn a 2wheeler. I dint learn bicycle nor 2wheeler uptill 2ndPUC, but when I came to 2nd PUC I learnt very soon bcoz of my self determination and the clear cut concepts which I was taught by Anand Driving School.
So ur Efforts, Self-Determination and Hardwork makes u succeed rather than imposing force by some1 else!!!!!
This incident proves that, Failure is the stepping stone to Success!!!!!!!!!! if I'm correct!!
